welcome.

This is my life unveiled as a Black Christian woman in today’s culture. I share what my Christian lifestyle and walk with Christ is like, unapologetically and honestly. Here, you can expect vulnerable, real conversation about life, the Word, and God with sprinkles of beauty, fashion, and wellness posts here and there.

I Need | He Provides: Just Ask

I Need | He Provides: Just Ask

God knew all that we needed: Jesus

He is the Bread of life.

God gave all that we needed: Jesus

He is Living Water.

God gives all that we need: Jesus

He is Righteousness.

God will give all that we need.

He is enough.

When we become children of God, we have every right to eat the Bread, drink from the Spring, and be dressed in righteousness.

The bread we eat is the Word of God put into action in our lives and for the sake of others so the glory of the Lord might be revealed to them. The water we drink comes from the Holy Spirit which is our well of Living Water. It is the Word of God that flows with righteousness, wisdom, comfort, understanding, strength, and everything else we need in Christ. The garment we wear is righteousness which is given to us by faith in Christ by the hearing, and hearing by the Word.

Just as we wake up, drink, eat, and put on our clothes, we drink, eat, and dress ourselves every day in the Spirit when we seek the Kingdom of God first. We are made new, born again as a new creation, and set apart from the world that is judged. We are aware of our worldly needs and our spiritual needs, and we know where all of our needs are met: the heart of our Heavenly Father.

Food that wastes cannot perfectly satisfy the hunger in our souls because we long for food that keeps us full. Drinks that dry up cannot perfectly satisfy the thirst of our souls because we long for water that keeps us refreshed. Garments that tatter can never perfectly cover us because our souls long for clothes that will last a lifetime. All of these needs in our souls are met in the Word of God which is alive and good.

Our Heavenly Father loves us. It’s because of His love that He wants to provide our needs, He provided for all of our needs in Christ and we are brought into close relationship with Him, closer than our ancestors. He asks us to believe, and in our obedience to have faith lies a promise:

‘Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.’

For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
